Roadblock Title:

Securing financial and Web3 mobile apps: Best practices for fraud prevention from dev to deployment

Time:

Tuesday - 11:30 AM (Tower C)

Abstract:

Fraud prevention is one of the biggest challenges facing financial and Web3 mobile apps today. Over 87% of financial institutions are more concerned about digital fraud yet only 14% have AI-enabled fraud detection.

In this session, Karen will discuss how to leverage advanced technologies like AI, automation, behavioral analysis, and in-app security to combat fraud effectively. She will also explore unique vulnerabilities in Web3 and financial apps, such as AI-driven fraud and transaction manipulation, and provide actionable insights for building secure and user-trusted applications.

Karen is co-inventor of 5 patents and for over 25 years has built and taken to market software for financial institutions and fintechs to better manage and serve their customers. She worked with financial standards organizations including SWIFT and ACORD to create global standards for exchanging data on financial transactions among financial institutions, companies, agents and other stakeholders.

Karen co-founded BlockchainIntel to prevent fraud in blockchain, ACH and credit card transactions and transitioned the company to become part of Appdome to expand the mission of protecting everyone using mobile apps. At Appdome, Karen works with Devops vendors to create product integrations that make it easier for developers to build and test secure mobile apps. She also works with Fintechs that process trillions of dollars in payments annually to protect their mobile apps for financial institutions. Outside of Appdome, Karen partners with law enforcement agencies around the world such as the FBI to identify and stop bad actors who have stolen digital assets from individuals.
