Roadblock Title:

Navigating biometric regulations: Overcoming privacy roadblocks in fintech

Time:

Wednesday - 1:00 PM (Tower A)

Abstract:

Biometrics are essential in fintech, preventing fraud and enhancing user experiences. However, stringent privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, and BIPA impose complex requirements on data collection, storage, and processing. These regulations vary by region, creating compliance hurdles that delay deployment. Additionally, user skepticism about data misuse complicates adoption, making transparency and robust safeguards critical for building trust. As fraud grows more sophisticated, biometrics offer the best defense across the user lifecycle—from deduplication to passwordless login. This session provides strategies to navigate privacy laws and deploy biometrics to prevent fraud while protecting user privacy.
